Greencore Transport Yard
Dutton Civils was contracted to remove the existing block paving and lay a new 2000m² yard slab at the Greencore site in Northampton. The yard had to be kept operational at all times so a high degree of co-operation with the client was required throughout.
The work was carried out in 2 phases to allow the site to remain operational with the block paving removed and the underlying stone trimmed to the correct falls and compacted. Shuttering was set up using Peikko Unirail screed rails. “Fastrac” concrete re-enforced with “Durus” fibres was laid and a brush finish applied. The high degree of cement in the concrete mix allowed the slab to be used after just 7 days of curing time.
Throughout the project we enjoyed a good working relationship with the client and the project was completed on time despite the fact that some days were lost to bad weather.
