Greencore Transport Yard 2
George Dutton Trading Ltd was contracted to remove the existing block paving and lay a new 1500m² yard slab along with installation of a 90m run of HGV kerbing at the Greencore site in Northampton. We were required to change the levels of the yard and alter the existing drainage so that all falls went in one direction which was not previously the case.
The yard had to be kept operational at all times so a high degree of co-operation with the client was required throughout.
The work was carried out in 5 phases to allow the site to remain operational with the block paving removed and the underlying stone trimmed to the correct falls and compacted. Shuttering was set up using GDTL’s own shuttering system. “Fastrac” concrete re-enforced with “Durus” fibres was laid and a brush finish applied. The high degree of cement in the concrete mix allowed the slab to be used after just 7 days of curing time.
Throughout the project we enjoyed a good working relationship with the client and the project was completed on time despite the fact that some days were lost to bad weather.
