Greencore Factory Extension
Dutton Civils was contracted to install foundations, drainage and a new floor slab for an extension to a factory at Greencore Plc’s manufacturing site in Northampton.
Greencore are a FTSE listed company producing ready-made food for clients such as M&S and Costa Coffee.
The extension was approximately 850 m² in size. The floor slab was laid to falls to allow washing down inside each room. Dutton Civils was required to install new drains for both high-care and low-care waste along with installing a new pump station, valve chamber and rising main for the waste to be pumped to the onsite treatment plant.
The external yard areas were re-instated with the block paving being replaced by a re-enforced concrete slab. Two new loading bays created servicing the new build.
Whilst on site Dutton Civils were also contracted to carry out the trenching work for the installation of a new commercial gas main feeding Greencore’s neighbouring production unit. We co-ordinated with the gas networks contractors to ensure the work was carried out safely and to the correct specification.
Throughout the project we enjoyed a good working relationship with the client and all other contractors on site. The project was completed on time and to the satisfaction of the client.
